Did you ever have a favorite artist and you think you knew and understood what they were thinking and why they would create various things? You understood that they just wanted to expand their creative juices more so than others would even consider allowing? Well, what happens when even YOU look at them and lean back in your chair and wonder, "What stuff WAS he smoking when he thought this was good? Cause maybe if I had what he had, I'd think this crap was good too!!"

Well, that's the question I asked while listening to this album. It's, as the title suggest, a Vocal Arrange album. What this means in principle is that they would most likely arrange the voices from said game in a fine, hot way, with nice techno remixes backing it. What this means in reality is that they have the melody from the game resembling something close to being actually good as people talk over the music as fast as they can... and that's not good. They have them all over the place. And even though the voices are arranged, the same voices making round on certain points on the music, it doesn't really work.

Ancient Fantasies is a crappy take on some high pitch voice talking constantly, as another one comes in and talks over THAT one. That isn't cool at all, folks. The music in the background isn't worth listening to on this track and is easily forgettable.

Confidence in the Domination starts out pretty nicely, until this DEEP voice guy comes in starts talking. Something he said earlier is recycled over and over again and later, a slight battle cry is recycled. It's annoying. As all heck.

What's worse about all this is the guy who made Star Ocean made this. Motoi Sakuraba is a good musician and I really don't know what compelled him to make this. Was it a lost bet? Something to spit in his publishers face with? I really, really don't know and I really, really don't know why you would want this. The only redeemable thing is the music which is only slightly good. Slightly. Don't waste your time at ALL.
