It is next to impossible to find the proper song selection for each incarnation of DDR, let alone proper info, other than Toshiba usually publishes the OST's.
The song selection therefore may not be as accurate as it could be.
Second in the DDR series is one of the classics, as a lot of these songs are very familiar to anyone who's played DDR at least once. A lot of songs on this mix are easily hits and I know a lot who still come back to play these.
As with many of the DDR games, a wide variety of musical styles are present here, from Techno, Club, Trance, Euro-Pop, Drum & Bass, Hip Hop R&B and even Reggae and Rock. Little Bitch is the Rock song on this album, without it being altered that much. Cool song that I still wish I heard the original.
Trip Machine and Paranoia are all fan favorites, with Paranoia winning out over the former. The songs are so musically good as well as fun to dance to as well. Paranoia is a fast and furious song, with urgency placed in the whole while. Trip Machine is also another nice piece with smooth sounds, the Drum & Bass'ness coming out in this one.
Bus Stop is the moniker name used when a song is an oldie transferred over with a rap in it. Kung Fu Fighting is the song that got the transformation work done in this mix. If you've heard it once, you know what you’re getting into here as well. I Believe in Miracles, while not done by the Bus Stop boys is also a oldie that got the new treatment done to it. Pretty smooth and fun.
I really don't know anyone who doesn't like Brilliant 2U and yes, the song is as fun to dance to as it sounds. This is one of those weird mixes of everything that makes the song so good. Stabs at an electric guitar, a synth, a steady drum beat and a way to happy announcer make this an especially fan favorite track, including the remix.
Butterfly and Boys, Smile.dk songs as well as Dub-I-Dub done by Me & My are some pretty slick Euro Pop songs. Not the best, but certainly not that bad. ('Cept for Boys), these are some pretty fun songs to listen to. Everyone's favorite is still Butterfly though I never could get into actually playing it. Hero is one of the better Euro songs on this album personally, and the remixed versions present on later versions are even better.
My personal favorite on this album which actually caused me to get the man's album is JS-16's Stomp to My Beat. Great house song, one of the best I've heard in a while and playing it is even better. Strictly Business is even better, though I like the longer version. It's Mantronik VS. EPMD, a time when both these names were still making hot music. Great rap piece by Eric Sermon, I believe, and great remixing done by Mantronik.
One of the worse songs is... is... Well, there really aren’t any bad songs on this mix. Well, there is Get up and Move, Let Them Move and Smoke, but the other songs outweigh them so much you forget them, just like I almost did. There really are either a lot of either well established classics, remixed properly or great sounding Techno tracks. A solid album through and through.
