This is the first album of the vocal collection released by Nobuo Uematsu. This album is entirely made of vocal songs. You won't hear any midi or synthesized sound on this CD.

What can I say about this album....well it's great! I remember the first time I listened to it, my mother was so tired of seeing me listening to it that she hid the CD. The songs found on the CD are themes taken from the six first Final Fantasy.

The Prelude is rearranged with only voices and a harp. And to say the truth, is very good. It makes me think of the Titanic Soundtrack. The second track of the CD is actually the Main theme from Final Fantasy 2. For those of you who have played to this game, you will immediately recognize the Overworld Theme turned into some history about an island somewhere. The third track is actually Music Box from FFV. But this time, the song is in French and has the same French style. (With the accordion and all the kit). This is one of the tracks that I would have banished from the CD but well, no album is perfect.

The Wanderer of Time is the theme of Terra in Final Fantasy VI. The song is in Japanese and it's one of my favorites even if you don't understand what she says.

Into the light is the Love Theme from Final Fantasy IV and Nobuo kept it in a love song style. Esperanza do Amor is sung in Portuguese (I think) and has the same style (you know, like the samba?) It's another one of my favorites because it makes me dance. The next track, is Voyage. If you have played to Final Fantasy III you will recognize the music when you take the boat. ("Endless Ocean" for those who already heard the FF3 Soundtrack). This one is also sung in Japanese. The eight track is Matoya's Cave with French lyrics. You remember Matoya? In the cave with the brooms that say "Push Start Select" written backwards? This song is about a princess in her Glass Palace and some Prince who wants to save his friend, some knight taken prisoner. At the end, the two get married. What the???

The next track is definitely my favorite one. It's "Elia, Maiden of the Water Shrine" from FF3. This song is actually the most beautiful song I've ever heard. I sang this song and put it on repeat until I had to do something more important. It justifies the purchase of the whole album. "Pray" is actually the main theme of Final Fantasy with lyrics in Japanese. Personally, I don't like this version. Nobuo made this one more "pop" if I can say that because there's electric guitar and a drum. The last track is the music you hear in some villages of Final Fantasy 6 sung in Portuguese. It's a calm song with only an acoustic guitar accompanying the singer.

Well that's it. I personally think this CD is one of the best that Mr. Uematsu has done. But no album is perfect so I give 94 out of 100. So go buy yourselves a copy of this CD.
