- Upgraded colors for the GBA's palette
- Upgraded music for the GBA's sound card
- Sleeker and more responsive gameplay
- Some tweaks to make SMB2 easier (the original was quite difficult)
- Additional items and bad guys (mostly just "larger versions" of originals)
The adjustments make the game quite enjoyable (I was never very partial to the original) and very manageable.
The story line for SMB2 is actually quite original. Mario is trapped in a dream world that's being conquered by this Bowser-like chap named Wart. Mario and Co. must go through the dream lands to finally beat Wart. There are unique elements all throughout the game (notably the use of vegetables for weapons, something which reminds me of the Commander Keen Lost Episode) and I think it's a rather refreshing Mario game.
All in all, this game provides nice graphics, good music, and an overall fun game for the Gameboy Advance ~ stay tuned for Super Mario Advance 2, which has been rumored to be Super Mario World. Oh, sweetness....

Super Mario Advance
By: NintendoReviewed By: S3KI
This game features enhanced versions of Mario Bros. (yes, the original, the multiplayer only game) and Super Mario Bros. 2 (originally for the NES). While the originality of this isn't amazing, the games have been notably enhanced and strategically chosen. SMB2 presents the single player game and MB is the multiplayer. The changes that have been made are as following (though this isn't a complete list!):- Upgraded colors for the GBA's palette
- Upgraded music for the GBA's sound card
- Sleeker and more responsive gameplay
- Some tweaks to make SMB2 easier (the original was quite difficult)
- Additional items and bad guys (mostly just "larger versions" of originals)
