Army of Angry Bees Swarm New York GameStop

Always check your walls for hidden insect armies! GameStop employees learned that lesson the hard way recently, as ABC7 reports, the shop in New York had some unwelcomed residents in the walls of their store, and something angered them enough to cause quite a scene.

The employees were trapped inside their store for several hours. A sign in the window read, "temporarily closed, due to bee infestation."

When I got here, there was already like a thousand bees in there...then they came out...there were more...they were like -- in a pack, said bee watcher Jay Lorenzo.

"There's a hive...inside the walls...leading upward...they say somebody's on the way, but they're taking a long time to get here", bee watcher Herman Leath said.

It took them two hours to get some help, after Eyewitness News called the police, who told them to call the fire department, who referred them back to 911, then redirected to 311, and finally the mayor's office. Finally, the NYPD's bee specialist arrived... (yes, it seems they are very prepared for armies of bees!)

"I'm probably gonna be relying on scent...the queen bee's scent...it could take a half hour to an hour...two hours...I don't know," NYPD bee expert Tony Planakis said.
